We have a lot of traveling to do today.  For the past month I have been having some knee pain, especially while standing a lot.  Nancy found a reputable orthopedist and made my appointment for today.  However, it is in a town called Mountain Home, about an hour north of Mountain View.  My appointment was for 10:00ish so we needed to be an hour early to fill out paperwork.  We arrived and took care of all the paperwork.  I think it took longer to fill out the paperwork than the time we actually saw the doctor.  They took me back, and then on to X-ray.  After a few shots I was returned to my room and waited only a couple of minutes for the doctor.    He was very nice.  My issue is that I have a lot of osteoarthritis.  I could even see it on the X-ray.  The lower leg was pushing out and the gap between the joint was more narrow on one side than the other.  Not a lot of options.  I chose the nonsurgical one.  The doctor gave me a steroid injection in the knee.  The injection was not as bad as I thought.  Now that the first stop is complete we need to get on the road to travel 1 1/2 hours to Batesville so Nancy can get her new lens in her glasses.  Fortunately right around the corner from the doctor’s office and on the way to Batesville, we found a little donut shop.  Interestingly enough they also had sausages wrapped in a dough of some kind.  We each got one to classify as “nutritious” for our breakfast.  We also got a couple of donuts.  Everything was very good.

We finally arrived in Batesville and it took Nancy about 10 minutes to get her lens installed.  And then we were on the road again.  This time we were heading back to Mountain View to get back in time to pick up a prescription for Nancy.  This many miles in one day makes for a very long day.  We made it back in time and finally got home to relax.
