Only one thing on today’s agenda. We are meeting up with a dear friend of ours from back in our Pearl Street Carmel days. When we lived on Pearl Street in Carmel we had a great family move in next door. That was Rick and Kay and Richie. Our children and Richie played together and Rick and Kay and Nancy and I would play a lot of Euchre. Rick was a musician and played with Henry Lee Summer as well as other bands like Roadmaster. We had some great times together. Then we moved but we still got together. Then we moved to North Carolina and they wound up moving to Nashville. We stayed in touch and one weekend we met in Asheville and again played Euchre everywhere we went. They moved back to Noblesville and when we visited Indiana we would try to see them as much as we could. Unfortunately Rick passed away 5 years ago. We have kept in touch with Kay and she moved back to Nashville. She saw my Facebook post about coming to Nashville and reached out to us. Today we are having lunch with Kay and a friend of hers, Chris.
We met at the Aquarium Restaurant in the Opry Mills Mall. It was a very interesting place. They actually encourage you to get up and walk around the restaurant. That is because you are dining with very large aquarium all around you. It is really neat. The food was very good but it was so wonderful to see Kay and to meet Chris. We talked for quite a while and catching up with each other. Unfortunately they had to leave but it was so great to see them.
We left the mall and stopped at a post office to mail out the last postcards for this trip. We hit the grocery store as well as tomorrow morning we are leaving Nashville and will make an overnight stop in Asheville before reaching home.
